Abstract

A Proactive Economic Intelligence Model Suggestion for Developing Country

The increasingly harsh competitive conditions in the globalizing world are leading to the preservation and development of the technological and intellectual accumulations of developed economies. Emerging economies that have to compete with developed economies in global markets are in an effort to transform the limited resources they have in production effectively. The economic intelligence activities and practices that are in place at this point provide the basis for the development of stable, safe and high-quality commercial relations between developed and emerging economies. It can be said that economic intelligence models and approaches are more interested in developed economies considering the development line of 30 years. Developed economies, especially the US, France, Britain, Germany and so forth, are developing economic intelligence models and approaches to protect their production technologies, intellectual property and other wealth. However, emerging economies are in great need of economic intelligence applications and activities that enable them to survive in today's global markets, to bring competition into identical conditions and above all to economic intelligence practices and activities which provide valuable perspectives on planning by predicting the future. Yet, an economic and financial system without economic intelligence is shaken by the sudden entry and exit of every foreign capital, does not show stability in its economic activities, cannot protect its domestic businesses against its competitors in global markets and above all, it cannot be mentioned absolutely "economic security." This research, which proposes a pro-active economic intelligence model for emerging economies as a core objective in the framed narrative, is based on the qualitative analysis method. As a result of the research, a model of economic intelligence on a macroeconomic scale has been proposed for developing countries, which combines both offensive and defensive strategies, based on the traditional intelligence production cycle in the production of economic intelligence, and adopts a future-oriented notion based on the present situation.
